Somewhere's Else #09:

I can’t count how many times
I’ve wished I was a kid again
Those years when boundless energy
Supplanted worries about rent, gas, love

I remember every tree was a challenge
Every curb was a chance to jump a bike
Every summer night was time to hunt
For flashing lights with wings.

Innocence was shattered and stolen
So violent we have yet to recover
I truly believe that what as lost
Will never be found.
