Somewhere's Else #08:

Being lost in a forest
can’t be all that bad.
The spirit of the woods
is calm, like an old friend
and the wind is merely a whisper
while rain is only a suggestion of dampness.
The only thing, as I see
that could be perceived negatively
is the persistent darkness
that hovers beneath the trees.
The sun is merely a hint of a memory
but I wouldn’t complain
as long as I know
that you are somewhere
waiting and thinking of me;
as long as I have something to look forward to:
a warm smile.
